My Melody has spent years being the sweetest character in a lot of childhoods, gentle, pastel, impossibly soft around the edges. That's not so far from what Ladurée has always tried to be, in cake form.
The collaboration takes shape in a box of 8 macarons, the kind of box that makes you feel nine years old again for just long enough to enjoy it, elegant enough that no one has to know.
From September 3rd, three new flavours join the line-up, and two of them taste like being seven years old at the corner shop. Cola and Strawberry Candy are macarons built entirely around the sweets everyone begged their parents for, reworked with rather more finesse than the originals ever had. Alongside them, Achta brings something new to the house's flavour range.From September 16th, alongside the Versailles box, comes Pineapple, a nod to Marie Antoinette's own taste for the exotic, and to her fondness for anything that felt a little like an escape.
Somewhere between a toy and a treat, Ladurée's marshmallow bear has always occupied its own category. In its XXL size, it stops pretending to be sensible altogether, an oversized, chocolate-coated reminder that some cravings never really go away.
For something a little more restrained, the marshmallow bear duos come in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or a mix of both. Grown-up portions. Same childhood joy.
