How to Store Macarons
Preserving the Delicacy of Ladurée Macarons
Storing macarons properly is essential to preserving the quality of the tasting experience.
To maintain the delicacy of their texture and the intensity of their flavours, Ladurée macarons should be kept refrigerated, between 4 and 6°C, away from light, for 4 days from the date your box was prepared.
This date is indicated on the leaflet provided with your gift box. Before serving, we recommend taking the macarons out of the refrigerator 15 to 20 minutes in advance.
This delicate pause allows them to regain their perfect balance: a fine, lightly crisp shell, a tender centre, a smooth filling, and fully expressed flavours.
The Right Way to Store Macarons
A pastry of great delicacy, the macaron requires special care. It is best to keep your box in the refrigerator, carefully closed, to protect the macarons from humidity, light, and surrounding odours.
At room temperature, macarons may be kept for up to 1 day, in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and any source of heat. However, to best preserve their freshness and subtlety, refrigerated storage is recommended.
Ladurée macarons should not be frozen. Freezing could alter the finesse of the shell, the texture of the filling, and the harmony of the flavours.
The Moment of Tasting
At Ladurée, every detail contributes to the experience. Proper storage prepares the tasting moment just as much as it preserves the pastry creation itself.
After a few minutes out of the refrigerator, the macaron reveals all its generosity: the gentle crispness of the shell, the softness of the centre, and the depth of its flavour. A simple yet essential ritual to fully appreciate the savoir-faire of the Maison.
